Terms of Service

The terms on which Grip is provided to you.

Last updated · August 2026

These terms form a binding agreement between you and Grip. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. If you do not accept them, you must not use Grip. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Grip. By creating an account you confirm that you are 18 or over, that the information you provide is accurate, and that you will keep it up to date.

2. Your account

You are responsible for your account and for all activity that takes place through it. You must use a secure password and must not share your account or allow others to use it. If you believe your account has been accessed without your authorisation, notify us immediately at [email protected].

3. Use of the service

Grip allows you to create a profile, discover other golfers, exchange messages and arrange rounds. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the app for these purposes.

4. Prohibited conduct

You must not:

Breach of this section may result in suspension or permanent closure of your account.

5. Content you share

You retain ownership of the content you post. You grant Grip a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store and display that content within the app to the extent required to operate the features you use. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, save where it has already been shared with other users. We may remove content that breaches these terms or our Community Guidelines.

6. Fees

Grip is currently provided free of charge. There is no subscription, no automatic renewal and no payment required to use the app. If we introduce paid features in future, we will set out the pricing and cancellation terms before you are asked to pay, and you will never be charged without your express consent.

7. Third-party services

Grip links to course databases, tee-time booking providers and handicap services operated by third parties. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability or accuracy. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.

8. Disclaimers and liability

Grip is a service for introducing golfers to one another. We do not carry out background checks on users, and we are not responsible for the conduct of any user, for disputes between users, or for any injury, loss or damage arising from meeting or interacting with them, whether on or off the app. You are responsible for exercising caution and good judgement.

The app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, data or goodwill, and for loss arising from third-party services or course bookings. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to £100 or the amount you have paid to use Grip in the twelve months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, your statutory rights are unaffected, and where consumer law affords you greater protection than these terms, that law prevails.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Grip against claims, losses, liabilities and reasonable legal costs arising from your use of the app, your breach of these terms, content you post, or your infringement of the rights of any other person.

10. Suspension and termination

You may delete your account at any time in Settings; see the account deletion page. On deletion, your profile, photographs and personal data are permanently removed. Messages you have sent may remain visible to their recipients, attributed to a deleted user.

We may suspend or terminate your account where you breach these terms or the Community Guidelines, or where your account is used fraudulently or unlawfully. On termination your right to use the app ceases immediately. The sections covering content licences already granted, disclaimers, liability, indemnity and governing law survive termination.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Users in the United Kingdom retain their rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Users in the European Union retain the consumer protections of their member state, which take precedence where they offer greater protection.

If a dispute arises, please contact [email protected] first so that we can attempt to resolve it informally. Consumers in the EU may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

12. General

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, constitute the entire agreement between you and Grip. If any provision is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect. A delay in enforcing any provision does not waive our right to enforce it later. You may not assign your rights under these terms; we may assign ours. We are not liable for any failure to perform caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

13. Changes to these terms

We may amend these terms from time to time. Where a change is material we will give notice within the app before it takes effect. Continued use of Grip after that date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to the amended terms, you must stop using the app and delete your account.
